Hi there!

It’s nice to meet you! I’m Mollie Amburgey and I am a comedian based in St. Louis, Missouri.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, I moved to St. Louis for college and earned my double major in Theatre and Communications Journalism from St. Louis University in 2013. I began working as an actor, director, stage manager, production assistant, and more for both for-profit and nonprofit theatre companies in the community. This led me to having my own 501(c)3 production company, #GoodPeopleTheatre, from 2015 to 2019. I wrote and produced my own plays, which were seen in venues such as The Moonrise Hotel in St. Louis, the St. Lou and Chicago Fringe Festivals, Simple Space and Revel Wine Bar in Cincinnati, and The Frock in Covington, Kentucky.
Beginning comedy in 2017, I perform regularly in the St. Louis area, both at comedy clubs and independent venues. In 2021, I began producing my own showcase, This Is Casually Happening, which sold out its first 6 shows within the first year and was recognized by local publications such as the former Riverfront Times and St. Louis Magazine. It began at The Golden Hoosier in South City St. Louis, and has expanded to Funny Bone St. Charles, Helium Comedy Club St. Louis, and the St. Lou Fringe Festival.
I also have been delighted to have been a performer in St. Louis’ own Flyover Comedy Festival in 2024 and 2025.

“I hope that people laugh,” Amburgey said. “I hope people cry a little, and their eyes are opened by a few things, and they are like, ‘Wow! I never saw that coming.’ I hope they walk away and they know [that] independent arts are so important.”

“You don’t have to be a fan of the genial morning-show banter that fills FM radio, or for that matter Seinfeld, to know that talking about nothing much can be pretty darn funny. That’s the premise local comedian Mollie Amburgey brings to The Casually Mollie Podcast, and it’s also in evidence in her new in-person comedy showcase, This Is Casually Happening.“
